Additionally, check with anyone who may have accepted your delivery on your behalf, such as other household members, neighbours, or someone who accepts mail on behalf of you.
The test kit contains:
1. 1 set of instructions
2. Saliva collection kit
3. DNA sample return tube containing preservative liquid
Most sicknesses will not affect your DNA and therefore will not affect the results from your cheek cells and saliva. Similarly, medications that you take will not change your DNA test results. However, you should avoid collecting your DNA sample using our saliva tube kit when you have ulcers in your mouth.
Another thing to take note of is that if you have received a bone marrow transplant or recent blood transfusion, it would result in the failure of the DNA analysis. Therefore, we do not recommend taking the test if you are a marrow or blood recipient.
You should also avoid providing your sample when you have cream or ointment applied onto the inside of your mouth.
Yes. Your DNA is collected from your cheek cells and saliva. Therefore, the results will not be affected by other parts of the body.
We have included a stabilizer within the return test tube to stabilize your DNA sample and prevent it from being contaminated by bacteria. This will allow the sample to be stored for a minimum of 3 months. It is best to return the sample to us as soon as possible once you have completed the sample collection.
We can only proceed to process your DNA sample when the registration and activation procedures are completed. If you are yet to activate your kit on our website, please email enquiry@mylifecodes.com.my with the following information:
1. Order number, or
2. Kit barcode number
Once you have set up an account and have received your kit, you can proceed to activate the kit via our website. All you have to do is log in and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the kit.
We can only proceed to process your DNA sample when the registration and activation procedures are completed. Your kit will be activated when the barcode is registered, which allows us to identify your sample.
The barcode is placed on the return sample tube and the DNA sample collection kit.

Our DNA test kits are simple and convenient to use. You can refer to the instruction set that we have included in each test kit box. If your order contains more than one kit, please ensure that each individual uses the collection kit they have registered.
Before collecting your sample,
• Create an account and activate your kit via our website
• Do not to eat, drink, smoke, or use mouthwash 30 minutes before collecting your DNA sample
After collecting your sample, we recommend that you return your sample to us as soon as possible.
Before collecting your DNA sample, please register an account and activate your test kit barcode so that we can identify your DNA sample.
You should also refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum 30 minutes before providing your DNA sample. This is to avoid affecting the results due to contamination.
You can also gargle with plain water before collecting your sample if your cheeks are too dry to spit.
As long as you have not eaten, drank, or chewed gum within the last 30 minutes, you can take your DNA sample at any time.
Most customers find it best to collect their DNA sample first thing in the morning, before brushing their teeth, on the day of the sample pickup.
It is best to return the sample to use on the same day as the saliva sample collection. In the event you are unable to do so, you may store your sample for up to 3 months under appropriate temperature (-4ºF to 122ºF or -20ºC to 50ºC) as long as it is mixed with the provided stabilizer.
Please store the DNA sample in a cool place away from direct sunlight; there is no need to store it in the refrigerator.
